Narrative description of Project: The 2nd Northern GMS Transport Network Improvement Project (NH217) has the total length of 194km that locates entirely in ThanhHoa Province.

In Phase I of the Project, 88.2km of the existing NH217 shall be upgraded to Class IV of mountainous road, width=6.5m, designed speed=40km/h.
In addition, there shall be new construction of 3km of Cam Thuy Bypass with Class III of plain road.
The Project is funded by the ADB and Vietnamese Government.
